Our history
Our family-owned company Bauunternehmung Paterlini AG Lenzerheide can look back on a long history full of tradition. In 1901, more than 120 years ago, Carlo Paterlini founded a small construction company. Carlo Paterlini settled in the commune of Vaz/Obervaz together with his wife, eight sons and four daughters. The family also ran a small farm to provide for themselves. Demand increased and the number of orders and employees at Paterlini grew rapidly. The company has been successful for decades and was able to complete important construction projects, such as churches, mountain railways, hotels and other important infrastructures. In doing so, the company helped shape the development of the commune of Vaz/Obervaz.
The health resort of Lenzerheide-Valbella started to increase in popularity in the 1950s, and the 1970s saw a veritable construction boom. During this time, the company was still operating under the name of C. Paterlini’s Erben and employed up to 140 people. In 1993, the company was transformed into a joint stock company and changed its name to Bauunternehmung Paterlini AG. In 2007, the company was split into two joint stock companies: Bauunternehmung Paterlini AG and Lenzerheide Immobilien AG. Both companies are independently run under the joint management of Gion-Reto Paterlini. Bauunternehmung Paterlini AG is now managed by the third and fourth generation of the Paterlini family.

He settles in Zorten and starts construction activities
1906
Relocation of the business premises to the old post office in Lenzerheide (now Hotel Danis)
1928
Construction of stable and residential building Penasch sot 12 Lenzerheide, also used as new business premises
1942
Death of company founder Carlo Paterlini and foundation of C. Paterlini’s Erben, managed by Giovanni Paterlini
1948
Construction of canteen and works yard at Penasch sot
1993
Dissolution of C. Paterlini’s Erben general partnership and transfer to Bauunternehmung Paterlini AG
1995/1996
Construction of new works yard and employee apartments at Penasch sot
1999
Death of long-standing managing director Giovanni Paterlini-Dosch (1916–1999)

100th anniversary of the Paterlini construction company
